A taxonomy of cookie banners, by how much contempt they contain:

• Accept and Reject, same size, same colour: rare, honest, I am briefly moved

• Accept large and coloured, Reject small and grey: the standard, at least it is legible

• Accept, and then Manage Preferences leading to nineteen toggles all on by default: this is a maze with a prize at the end and the prize is the thing I asked for on arrival

• A banner that reappears on every page because rejecting was not storable: actively adversarial and somebody built it on purpose

The fourth is the only one I genuinely resent. It took extra work. Somebody sat down and made refusal not persist.
