Delete your account
Deleting your account removes it and your writing from Vewn straight away. There is no grace period and no way to undo it.
What is deleted
- Your profile: handle, display name, bio, photo and banner
- Every post you wrote, published and draft alike, and the comments on them
- Every comment and reply you left on other people’s posts
- Your likes, your follows, and the people who followed you
- Every conversation you were part of, and every message in it, on both sides
- Your notifications, your saved themes and your app settings
- Anything you posted to the suggestions board, and the votes you cast there
- Every image you uploaded: the files themselves, not just the link to them
- Your sign-in: the email address is released, so you can start over from scratch with it
What is kept, and why
- Tags you were first to use stay, unattributed; they are shared topics other people’s posts still sit under
- Anonymous letters you sent stay with the people who received them, with nothing left linking them to you
- Reports you filed stay open, with your name removed, so they can still be acted on
- If a message of yours was reported, the frozen copy of it stays, so the report can still be judged; nothing else from that conversation does
- If a comment of yours was reported, the frozen copy of it stays, for the same reason; the comment itself is deleted with the rest
- Any moderation record about you stays, so that a decision cannot be erased by closing the account it was about
- Billing records we are required to keep for accounting, no longer attached to a name
- A tombstone row holding no name, no words and no picture; it is what lets the things above stay detached from you rather than dangling
